This is where the whole system stands or falls. The child does something they would not have done otherwise. In return it is your turn when they cash in: if the swimming pool is in the shop and your child has earned it, then you go to the swimming pool. Not some time, not when it happens to suit. Beans are worth exactly as much as you honour them, and children notice faster than any accountant when a currency stops being worth anything.
